The Zumbrota-Mazeppa Cougars basketball team scored 69 points and restricted the visiting Pine Island Panthers to 60 in the Cougars league victory on Friday.
The Cougars now sport a 9-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to La Crescent/La Crescent Montessori & Stem for a AA Section 1 contest on Saturday, January 20. Zumbrota-Mazeppa will battle a Lancers team coming off a 67-58 league win over Plainview-Elgin-Millville (Elgin, MN). The Lancers record now stands at 11-3.
The Panthers (8-7) will now prepare for their contest against Lewiston-Altura (Lewiston, MN). The Cardinals come into the AA Section 1 contest with a 9-6 record. In their last contest, Lewiston-Altura was defeated by Caledonia (Caledonia, MN), 90-52, in a league contest.
