In Friday's league test, the Payson Longhorns (Payson, AZ) basketball squad defeated the host Benjamin Franklin Chargers (Queen Creek, AZ), by a final score of 57-45.

Next, the Longhorns clash with the Northwest Christian Crusaders (Phoenix, AZ) in a 3A Metro test, on Saturday, February 1. Payson will attempt to upgrade on its 23-5 season record. The Crusaders come into the test with a 9-9 record after their 49-43 league loss to Gilbert Christian (Gilbert, AZ).

The Chargers (9-14) will now prepare for their test against Gilbert Classical Academy (Gilbert, AZ). The Spartans come into the non-league test with a 13-9 record.
