North Carolina High School Basketball - Overhills overwhelms Lee County
February 1, 2024: Spring Lake, NC 28390 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Overhills Jaguars (Spring Lake, NC) and the visiting Lee County Yellow Jackets (Sanford, NC), saw Overhills's basketball squad wallop Lee County by a tally of 79-56.
With the victory, Overhills improves its record to 11-7 on the campaign. The Jaguars travel to Western Harnett (Lillington, NC) to play the Eagles in a 3A/4A All-American challenge on Friday, February 2. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 0-18. Western Harnett lost 64-46 in their recent league challenge against Pine Forest (Fayetteville, NC)
Next up, the Yellow Jackets play the Pinecrest Patriots (Southern Pines, NC) in a 3A/4A Sandhills challenge, on Tuesday, February 6. Lee County will attempt to improve on its 6-13 season record. The Patriots come into the challenge with a 9-8 record after their 62-57 league win over Southern Lee (Sanford, NC).
