January 10, 2024: Southern Pines, NC 28387 The Pinecrest Patriots (Southern Pines, NC) basketball nipped the visiting Lee County Yellow Jackets (Sanford, NC), 62-58 in Wednesday's league test.
The Patriots (7-4) will now prepare for their test against Apex Friendship (Apex, NC). The Patriots go into the non-league test with a 10-3 record. In their last test, Apex Friendship was tipped by Panther Creek (Cary, NC), 68-52, in a league test.
The Yellow Jackets now own a 5-8 record. They play next when they travel to Richmond for a 3A/4A Sandhills test on Tuesday, January 16. Lee County will encounter a Raiders squad coming off a 75-47 league win over Union Pines (Cameron, NC). The Raiders record now stands at 10-5.
