In Tuesday's league match, the host Scotland Fighting Scots basketball team scored a tight 48-44 triumph over the Pinecrest Patriots.

In their next game, the Fighting Scots face the Lee County Yellow Jackets (Sanford, NC) in a 3A/4A Sandhills match, on Friday, January 19. Scotland will attempt to move on its 6-8 season record. The Yellow Jackets enter the match with a 5-9 record after their 118-52 league loss to Richmond (Rockingham, NC).
