Georgia High School Basketball - Brookwood holds off Southland Academy
February 2, 2024: Thomasville, GA 31792 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Brookwood Warriors (Thomasville, GA) and the visiting Southland Academy Raiders (Americus, GA), saw Brookwood's basketball squad hold off Southland Academy by a tally of 53-48.
With the victory, Brookwood improves its record to 22-2 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Southwest Georgia Academy (Damascus, GA) to confront the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Monday, February 5. The Warriors come into the challenge with a record of 9-11. Southwest Georgia Academy lost 57-54 in their recent league challenge against Georgia Christian (Valdosta, GA)
Next up, the Raiders confront the Deerfield-Windsor Knights (Albany, GA) in a GIAA AAAA/AAA District 3 challenge, on Tuesday, February 6. Southland Academy will attempt to improve on its 9-10 season record. The Knights come into the challenge with a 14-10 record after their 49-40 league loss to Tiftarea Academy (Chula, GA).
