Georgia High School Basketball - Deerfield-Windsor can't hold off Southland Academy
January 23, 2024: Albany, GA 31707 The Southland Academy Raiders basketball team scored 34 points and restricted the host Deerfield-Windsor Knights to 31 in the Raiders league victory on Tuesday.
The Raiders now sport a 7-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Brookwood for a GIAA AAAA/AAA District 3 contest on Thursday, January 25. Southland Academy will battle a Warriors team coming off a 85-50 league win over Valwood (Valdosta, GA). The Warriors record now stands at 18-2.
The Knights (13-7) will now prepare for their contest against Valwood (Valdosta, GA). The Valiants come into the GIAA AAAA/AAA District 3 contest with a 9-8 record. In their last contest, Valwood was nudged by Georgia Christian (Valdosta, GA), 52-47, in a non-league contest.
