The North Wilkes Vikings basketball team scored 60 points and held the host West Wilkes Blackhawks to 40 in the Vikings league triumph on Friday.

The Vikings now sport a 9-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Wilkes Central for a 2A Foothills contest on Tuesday, February 6. North Wilkes will battle a Eagles team coming off a 67-64 league loss to East Surry (Pilot Mountain, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 12-9.

The Blackhawks (5-14) will now prepare for their contest against North Surry (Mount Airy, NC). The Greyhounds enter the 2A Foothills contest with a 15-4 record. In their last contest, North Surry ran past Forbush (East Bend, NC), 69-37, in a league contest.
