Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Union Area trounces Western Beaver

February 3, 2023: New Castle, PA 16101

The Union Area Scotties (New Castle, PA) basketball crushed the visiting Western Beaver Golden Beavers (Industry, PA), 89-39 in Friday's league test.

The Scotties (18-1) will now prepare for their test against Rochester (Rochester, PA). The Rams go into the WPIAL 1A 1 test with a 8-11 record. In their last test, Rochester was trounced by Quaker Valley (Leetsdale, PA), 59-42, in a non-league test.

The Golden Beavers now own a 9-11 record. They play next when they travel to Cornell for a WPIAL 1A 1 test on Tuesday, February 7. Western Beaver will encounter a Raiders squad coming off a 55-50 league loss to Avella (Avella, PA). The Raiders record now stands at 1-18.
