Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars (Pinetops, NC) and the host Ayden - Grifton Chargers (Ayden, NC), saw SouthWest Edgecombe's basketball squad knock off Ayden - Grifton by a tally of 62-53.

With the victory, SouthWest Edgecombe improves its record to 12-10 on the campaign. The Cougars host Washington (Washington, NC) to play the Pam Pack in a 2A Eastern Plains challenge on Tuesday, February 13. The Pam Pack come into the challenge with a record of 15-7. Washington won 79-75 in their recent league challenge against North Pitt (Bethel, NC)
