The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Youngker Roughriders (Buckeye, AZ) and the visiting Desert Edge Scorpions (Goodyear, AZ), observed Youngker's basketball team edge Desert Edge by a score of 71-65.

The Roughriders (6-14) will now prepare for their challenge against Paradise Valley (Phoenix, AZ). The Trojans come into the 5A Desert West challenge with a 15-10 record. In their last challenge, Paradise Valley was tipped by Carl Hayden Community (Phoenix, AZ), 61-56, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Scorpions battle the Canyon View Jaguars (Waddell, AZ) in a 5A Desert West challenge, on Thursday, February 13. Desert Edge will attempt to improve on its 9-16 season record. The Jaguars come into the challenge with a 22-1 record after their 88-53 league win over Buckeye (Buckeye, AZ).
