The crowd at Monday's non-league challenge between the McConnellsburg Spartans (McConnellsburg, PA) and the host North Star Cougars (Boswell, PA), observed McConnellsburg's basketball team overcome North Star by a margin of 49-39.

The Spartans (25-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Greensburg Central Catholic (Greensburg, PA). The Centurions come into the non-league challenge with a 21-3 record. In their last challenge, Greensburg Central Catholic dropped by Union Area (New Castle, PA), 44-42, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Cougars battle the Shady Side Academy Bulldogs (Pittsburgh, PA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, March 8. North Star will attempt to better on its 20-6 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 12-13 record after their 67-46 non-league win over Ellwood City (Ellwood City, PA).
