The South Mecklenburg Sabres triumphed over the visiting Mallard Creek Mavericks softball squad by a count of 15-0 in Friday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Sabres meet the Palisades Pumas (Charlotte, NC) in a So Meck 4A challenge, on Tuesday, March 11. South Mecklenburg will attempt to upgrade on its 4-2 season record. The Pumas enter the challenge with a 2-3 record after their 9-4 league loss to Myers Park (Charlotte, NC).

The Mavericks (1-4) will now prepare for their challenge against West Charlotte (Charlotte, NC). The Lions enter the Queen City 3A/4A challenge with a 2-1 record. In their last challenge, West Charlotte was routed by Ballantyne Ridge (Charlotte, NC), 17-1, in a non-league challenge.
