The Itasca Wampus Cats softball team scored 18 runs and held the visiting Meridian Yellowjackets to 3 in the Wampus Cats league win on Friday.

The Wampus Cats now sport a 3-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Frost for a 2A Region II District 15 battle on Tuesday, March 25.

With the loss, Meridian moves to 0-3 on the season. The Yellowjackets travel to Italy (Italy, TX) to confront the Gladiators in a 1A Region II District 14 battle on Tuesday, March 18. The Gladiators come into the battle with a record of 4-4. Italy won 24-8 in their recent non-league battle against Hico (Hico, TX)
