Itasca Wampus Cats (Itasca, TX) backers left the game pleased Tuesday as they saw their softball squad thwart the host Meridian Yellowjackets (Meridian, TX), 15-5 in a league game.

With the triumph, Itasca upgrades its record to 5-9 on the year. The Wampus Cats host Frost (Frost, TX) to play the Polar Bears in a 2A Region II District 15 game on Friday, April 11. The Polar Bears enter the game with a record of 2-10.

The Yellowjackets now own a 0-8 record. They play next when they host Italy for a 1A Region II District 14 game on Friday, April 4. Meridian will play a Gladiators squad coming off a 14-13 non-league loss to Hico (Hico, TX). The Gladiators record now stands at 11-5.
