Hico Tigers (Hico, TX) supporters left the game thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Itasca Wampus Cats (Itasca, TX), 12-5 in a league game.

With the triumph, Hico improves its record to 4-7 on the year. The Tigers travel to Italy (Italy, TX) to play the Gladiators in a non-league game on Tuesday, April 1. The Gladiators enter the game with a record of 11-4. Italy won 24-8 in their recent league game against Frost (Frost, TX)

The Wampus Cats now hold a 4-9 record. They play next when they travel to Meridian for a 1A Region II District 14 game on Tuesday, April 1. Itasca will play a Yellowjackets squad coming off a 15-3 league loss to Rio Vista (Rio Vista, TX). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 0-7.
