The Ponaganset Chieftains (North Scituate, RI) baseball trounced the visiting Chariho Chargers (Wood River Junction, RI), 8-0 in Wednesday's league challenge.

The Chieftains now own a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Smithfield for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 5. Ponaganset will clash with a Sentinels team coming off a 4-0 league loss to Cumberland (Cumberland, RI). The Sentinels record now stands at 1-1.

With the defeat, Chariho drops to 0-2 on the year. The Chargers travel to Prout (Wakefield, RI) to clash with the Crusaders in a Division 2 challenge on Thursday, April 3.
