In Wednesday's non-league game, the visiting Freedom Patriots baseball team scored a close 7-0 win over the King Lions.

The Patriots (15-7) will now prepare for their game against Spoto (Riverview, FL). The Spartans go into the 5A District 9 game with a 3-12 record. In their last game, Spoto was overwhelmed by Sumner (Riverview, FL), 12-3, in a non-league game.

Next, the Lions play the Durant Cougars (Plant City, FL) in a non-league game, on Thursday, April 9. King will attempt to improve on its 1-19 season record. The Cougars go into the game with a 12-7 record after their 5-1 non-league loss to Gaither (Tampa, FL).
