The crowd at Monday's league battle between the Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) and the visiting South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC), saw Alexander Central's baseball team get by South Caldwell by a tally of 3-2.

The Cougars (8-8) will now prepare for their battle against Hibriten (Lenoir, NC). The Panthers enter the non-league battle with a 4-6 record. In their last battle, Hibriten held off Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC), 15-8, in a non-league battle.
