The crowd at Friday's league battle between the Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) and the visiting Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC), saw Alexander Central's baseball team gain a win over Watauga by a tally of 9-3.

The Cougars (4-5) will now prepare for their battle against South Caldwell (Hudson, NC). The Spartans enter the battle with a 6-2 record. In their last battle, South Caldwell held off Freedom (Morganton, NC), 14-3, in a league battle.

Next, the Pioneers face the Hibriten Panthers (Lenoir, NC) in a non-league battle, on Tuesday, March 25. Watauga will attempt to upgrade on its 4-2 season record. The Panthers enter the battle with a 3-3 record after their 19-3 non-league win over Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC).
