Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC), 4-2 in a league test.

With the win, Ashe County upgrades its record to 11-6 on the season. The Huskies host Mount Airy (Mount Airy, NC) to battle the Granite Bears in a non-league test on Monday, April 22. The Granite Bears come into the test with a record of 16-1. Mount Airy won 6-0 in their recent league test against Elkin (Elkin, NC)

With the defeat, Freedom falls to 3-15 on the season. The Patriots travel to Watauga (Boone, NC) to battle the Pioneers in a Northwestern 3A/4A test on Tuesday, April 23. The Pioneers come into the test with a record of 11-5. Watauga lost 3-0 in their recent non-league test against Davie (Mocksville, NC)
