In Tuesday's league challenge, the Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) baseball squad triumphed over the visiting Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC), by a final score of 6-0.

With the win, Alexander Central upgrades its record to 4-4 on the season. The Cougars travel to South Iredell (Statesville, NC) to battle the Vikings in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 21. The Vikings come into the challenge with a record of 6-2. South Iredell won 10-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Carson (China Grove, NC)

With the defeat, Ashe County falls to 7-3 on the season. The Huskies travel to Hibriten (Lenoir, NC) to battle the Panthers in a Northwestern 3A/4A challenge on Monday, March 25. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 5-4. Hibriten won 7-6 in their recent non-league challenge against West Caldwell (Lenoir, NC)
