In Monday's league challenge, the Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) baseball squad edged the visiting Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC), by a final score of 6-5.

With the win, Ashe County upgrades its record to 10-5 on the season. The Huskies host Hibriten (Lenoir, NC) to encounter the Panthers in a Northwestern 3A/4A challenge on Tuesday, April 16. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 10-7. Hibriten won 14-4 in their recent league challenge against Freedom (Morganton, NC)
