Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC), 5-3 in a league test.

With the win, Ashe County upgrades its record to 12-7 on the season. The Huskies host Watauga (Boone, NC) to battle the Pioneers in a Northwestern 3A/4A test on Friday, April 26. The Pioneers come into the test with a record of 13-5. Watauga won 4-3 in their recent non-league test against West Wilkes (Millers Creek, NC)

With the defeat, South Caldwell falls to 14-5 on the season. The Spartans travel to Hibriten (Lenoir, NC) to battle the Panthers in a Northwestern 3A/4A test on Friday, April 26. The Panthers come into the test with a record of 12-9. Hibriten lost 10-4 in their recent league test against Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC)
