New Mexico High School Softball - Tohatchi held off by Wingate

In Wednesday's league test, the Wingate Bears (Fort Wingate, NM) softball squad got by the visiting Tohatchi Cougars (Tohatchi, NM), by a tally of 14-13.

Next, the Bears clash with the Hot Springs Tigers (Truth or Consequences, NM) in a non-league test, on Friday, May 1. Wingate will attempt to advance on its 12-10 season record. The Tigers go into the test with a 3-21 record after their 28-18 non-league loss to Thoreau (Thoreau, NM).

The Cougars (9-15) will now prepare for their test against Newcomb (Newcomb, NM). The Skyhawks go into the 3A District 1 test with a 3-17 record. In their last test, Newcomb was nudged by Zuni (Zuni, NM), 22-11, in a league test.
