Spectators at Saturday's league battle between the North Star Cougars (Boswell, PA) and the visiting Blacklick Valley Vikings (Nanty Glo, PA), saw North Star's baseball squad knock off Blacklick Valley by a count of 8-2.

Coming up next, the Cougars play the Portage Mustangs (Portage, PA) in a Western Pennsylvania battle, on Monday, May 2. North Star will attempt to move on its 5-3 season record. The Mustangs enter the battle with a 10-0 record after their 15-0 non-league win over Penn Cambria (Cresson, PA).

The Vikings now possess a 1-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Harmony Area for a non-league battle on Monday, May 2. Blacklick Valley will play a Owls squad coming off a 15-4 league win over Glendale (Flinton, PA). The Owls record now stands at 4-1.
