Burns Bulldogs (Lawndale, NC) supporters left the game thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad topple the host Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC), 17-1 in a league game.

With the triumph, Burns improves its record to 12-6 on the year. The Bulldogs travel to R-S Central (Rutherfordton, NC) to play the Hilltoppers in a non-league game on Thursday, May 1. The Hilltoppers enter the game with a record of 14-6. R-S Central lost 3-2 in their recent league game against Brevard (Brevard, NC)

The Golden Lions now hold a 2-13 record.
