Game Summary
CARDINALS SWEPT UP BY THE RED STORM
May 2, 2024 – Call it a tsunami, hurricane, superstorm, whatever it was La Salle Academy got caught up, swept up in it during a 0-15 drubbing against St. John’s Prep at the ICYP Complex in Queens, NY. The loss drops the Cardinals record to 3-5 in CHSAA league play as they enter the final quarter of the season.
The Red Storm jumped all over La Salle starter, Anthony Gonzalez, tagging him for 13 runs over two innings, which essentially made this game over as soon as it started. On the flip side, the La Salle offense was equally inept as they were no-hit, again, (last year as well) by Red Storm pitcher, Rodriguez who went the distance for the win.
On Deck: It’s Friday afternoon baseball for La Salle, a quick turnaround, as the host St. Edmund Prep on May 3rd. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30pm on Randall’s Island, field #46.
