Ohio High School Volleyball - Northview over Whitmer
August 26, 2025: Toledo, OH 43613 Fans at Tuesday's league contest between the Northview Wildcats (Sylvania, OH) and the host Whitmer Panthers (Toledo, OH), observed Northview's volleyball team top Whitmer by a count of 3-0.
The Wildcats (3-2) will now prepare for their contest against St. Ursula Academy (Toledo, OH). The Arrows go into the non-league battle with a 2-3 record. In their last battle, St. Ursula Academy achieved victory over Bishop Watterson (Columbus, OH), 2-0, in a non-league battle.
The Panthers now own a 2-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Perrysburg for a Northern Lakes battle on Thursday, August 28. Whitmer will meet a Yellow Jackets team coming off a 3-0 league loss to Anthony Wayne (Whitehouse, OH). The Yellow Jackets record now stands at 3-1.
Match Summary
TOLEDO - In the first match-up of the NLL Buckeye Division for the Wildcats and they were able to pull off the sweep of the Panthers to win their third straight match to move to 3-2 (2-1 in the NLL, 1-0 in the Buckeye Division).
Leading for the Cats was sophomore middle blocker, Reese Holmes, with 8 kills, hitting .429 and 2 blocks. Senior outside, Talia Twigg led the team with 11 kills, hitting .333, passing 1.76, 3 aces, and 9 digs; and senior opposite, Bri Langenderfer with 6 kills. Frankie Ramsdell-Washington added 4 kills and won 9 points off of serve. All of the offense was led by junior setter, Alayna Sauer with 29 assists and 10 digs for her third double-double of the season. Sophomore libero, Jade Hagan, led the Cats with 14 digs, and 9 points won on her serve.
The Cats return to action on Thursday as they travel to St. Ursula.
