The East Burke Cavaliers volleyball squad (Connelly Springs, NC), was defeated 3-0 in Monday's non-league battle with the host McDowell Titans (Marion, NC)

With the win, McDowell improves its record to 7-3 on the season. The Titans host South Caldwell (Hudson, NC) to encounter the Spartans in a Northwestern 6A/7A battle on Tuesday, September 9. The Spartans go into the battle with a record of 5-2. South Caldwell lost 3-0 in their recent non-league battle against South Iredell (Statesville, NC)
