North Carolina High School Volleyball - Swain County edged by Smoky Mountain

Smoky Mountain Mustangs (Sylva, NC) boosters left the game thrilled Monday as they saw their volleyball squad nudge the visiting Swain County Maroon Devils (Bryson City, NC), 3-2 in a non-league test.

With the win, Smoky Mountain improves its record to 7-6 on the season. The Mustangs host Pisgah (Canton, NC) to face the Bears in a Mountain Eight 4A/5A challenge on Tuesday, September 16. The Bears come into the challenge with a record of 9-4. Pisgah won 3-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Erwin (Asheville, NC)

Next, the Maroon Devils meet the Highlands Highlanders (Highlands, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, September 16. Swain County will attempt to upgrade on its 6-6 season record. The Highlanders come into the challenge with a 3-9 record after their 3-2 non-league win over Summit Charter (Cashiers, NC).
