Georgia High School Football - Jonesboro can't hold off Central

September 25, 2025: Jonesboro, GA 30236

Central Lions (Carrollton, GA) fans exited the stadium in high spirits Thursday as they saw their football team tip the host Jonesboro Cardinals (Jonesboro, GA), 24-21 in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Lions play the Starr's Mill Panthers (Fayetteville, GA) in a AAAA Region 3 challenge, on Friday, October 3. Central will attempt to improve on its 6-0 season record. The Panthers go into the challenge with a 1-5 record after their 38-19 league win over Mundy's Mill (Jonesboro, GA).

With the defeat, Jonesboro drops to 3-3 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Mundy's Mill (Jonesboro, GA) to meet the Tigers in a AAAA Region 3 test on Friday, October 10. The Tigers come into the test with a record of 0-6.
