Virginia High School Volleyball - Galax over George Wythe

September 28, 2023: Galax, VA 24333

Galax Maroon Tide (Galax, VA) backers left the game in high spirits Thursday as they observed their volleyball squad top the visiting George Wythe Maroons (Wytheville, VA), 3-0 in a league match.

Next up, the Maroon Tide battle the Alleghany Trojans (Sparta, NC) in a non-league match, on Monday, October 2. Galax will attempt to better on its 6-7 season record. The Trojans come into the match with a 12-5 record after their 3-2 league win over North Stokes (Danbury, NC).

With the loss, George Wythe drops to 4-8 on the year. The Maroons host Fort Chiswell (Max Meadows, VA) to face the Pioneers in a Mountain Empire outing on Monday, October 2. The Pioneers go into the outing with a record of 4-8. Fort Chiswell lost 3-1 in their recent league outing against Galax (Galax, VA)
