October 2, 2023: Wytheville, VA 24382 The Fort Chiswell Pioneers volleyball team (Max Meadows, VA), was dropped 3-1 in Monday's league challenge with the host George Wythe Maroons (Wytheville, VA)
The Maroons (5-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Giles (Pearisburg, VA). The Spartans enter the Mountain Empire challenge with a 11-2 record. In their last challenge, Giles defeated Auburn (Riner, VA), 3-1, in a league challenge.
Next, the Pioneers meet the Grayson County Blue Devils (Independence, VA) in a Mountain Empire challenge, on Tuesday, October 3. Fort Chiswell will attempt to move on its 4-9 season record. The Blue Devils enter the challenge with a 9-7 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Floyd County (Floyd, VA).
