The crowd at Thursday's non-league bout between the Grayson County Blue Devils (Independence, VA) and the visiting George Wythe Maroons (Wytheville, VA), saw Grayson County's volleyball squad beat George Wythe by a tally of 3-1.

With the win, Grayson County upgrades its record to 12-9 on the year. The Blue Devils travel to Giles (Pearisburg, VA) to play the Spartans in a Mountain Empire bout on Monday, October 23. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 17-3. Giles won 3-0 in their recent league bout against Fort Chiswell (Max Meadows, VA)

The Maroons now own a 7-13 record.
