Mississippi High School Basketball - Picayune overwhelms West Harrison
January 10, 2023: Gulfport, MS 39503 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Picayune Maroon Tide (Picayune, MS) and the host West Harrison Hurricanes (Gulfport, MS), saw Picayune's basketball squad wallop West Harrison by a tally of 71-35.
With the victory, Picayune improves its record to 9-14 on the campaign. The Maroon Tide travel to Long Beach (Long Beach, MS) to confront the Bearcats in a 5A Region 7 challenge on Friday, January 13. The Bearcats come into the challenge with a record of 2-5. Long Beach lost 58-47 in their recent non-league challenge against St. Martin (Ocean Springs, MS)
Next up, the Hurricanes confront the Pearl River Central Blue Devils (Carriere, MS) in a 5A Region 7 challenge, on Saturday, January 14. West Harrison will attempt to improve on its 3-6 season record. The Blue Devils come into the contest with a 7-6 record after their 70-41 league loss to Picayune (Picayune, MS).
