Mississippi High School Basketball - Pearl River Central nips West Harrison
January 28, 2023: Gulfport, MS 39503 Fans at Saturday's league challenge between the Pearl River Central Blue Devils (Carriere, MS) and the host West Harrison Hurricanes (Gulfport, MS), saw Pearl River Central's basketball squad hold off West Harrison by a count of 80-79.
With the victory, Pearl River Central upgrades its record to 9-7 on the campaign. The Blue Devils travel to Long Beach (Long Beach, MS) to play the Bearcats in a 5A Region 7 challenge on Wednesday, February 1. The Bearcats come into the challenge with a record of 3-8. Long Beach lost 63-25 in their recent league challenge against Picayune (Picayune, MS)
Next up, the Hurricanes play the St. Martin Yellow Jackets (Ocean Springs, MS) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 31. West Harrison will attempt to upgrade on its 3-12 season record. The Yellow Jackets come into the challenge with a 14-11 record after their 40-28 league loss to D'Iberville (D'Iberville, MS).
