The Oakwood Comets basketball team scored 68 points and held the host Hoopeston Cornjerkers to 52 in the Comets league triumph on Wednesday.

The Comets now sport a 14-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Georgetown-Ridge Farm for a non-league contest on Saturday, January 13. Oakwood will battle a Buffaloes team coming off a 44-33 league loss to Watseka (Watseka, IL). The Buffaloes record now stands at 4-15.

The Cornjerkers (13-6) will now prepare for their contest against Urbana University (Urbana, IL). The Illineks enter the non-league contest with a 1-13 record. In their last contest, Urbana University was defeated by La Salette Academy (Georgetown, IL), 76-32, in a non-league contest.
