North Carolina High School Basketball - East Wilkes nips South Stokes
January 10, 2024: Ronda, NC 28670 Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the East Wilkes Cardinals (Ronda, NC) and the visiting South Stokes Sauras (Walnut Cove, NC), saw East Wilkes's basketball squad hold off South Stokes by a tally of 50-46.
With the victory, East Wilkes improves its record to 9-4 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Alleghany (Sparta, NC) to play the Trojans in a 1A Northwest challenge on Friday, January 12. The Trojans come into the challenge with a record of 1-11. Alleghany lost 55-25 in their recent league challenge against North Stokes (Danbury, NC)
Next up, the Sauras play the North Stokes Vikings (Danbury, NC) in a 1A Northwest challenge, on Friday, January 19. South Stokes will attempt to improve on its 8-5 season record. The Vikings come into the challenge with a 14-2 record after their 38-36 league win over Mount Airy (Mount Airy, NC).
