Virginia High School Basketball - New Kent holds off Smithfield

January 10, 2025: New Kent, VA 23124

The New Kent Trojans basketball team scored 85 points and limited the visiting Smithfield Packers to 79 in the Trojans league triumph on Friday.

The Trojans now have a 10-0 record. They play next when they host Warhill for a Bay Rivers game on Wednesday, January 15. New Kent will confront a Lions team coming off a 57-49 league loss to Grafton (Yorktown, VA). The Lions record now stands at 7-3.

With the loss, Smithfield falls to 7-2 on the campaign. The Packers travel to Lakeland (Suffolk, VA) to confront the Cavaliers in a non-league game on Tuesday, January 14. The Cavaliers go into the game with a record of 3-4.
