Virginia High School Basketball - New Kent thwarts Poquoson

The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the New Kent Trojans (New Kent, VA) and the host Poquoson Islanders (Poquoson, VA), observed New Kent's basketball team knock off Poquoson by a score of 73-53.

The Trojans (12-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Lafayette (Williamsburg, VA). The Rams come into the Bay Rivers challenge with a 7-6 record. In their last challenge, Lafayette dropped by Bruton (Williamsburg, VA), 64-55, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Islanders battle the Nandua Warriors (Onley, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 21. Poquoson will attempt to improve on its 0-8 season record.
