In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting Burney Raiders basketball team scored a big 63-29 win over the Surprise Valley Hornets.

The Raiders (12-4) will now prepare for their contest against Chester (Chester, CA). The Volcanoes come into the Five Star contest with a 9-3 record. In their last contest, Chester smashed Dunsmuir (Dunsmuir, CA), 52-19, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Hornets battle the Dunsmuir Tigers (Dunsmuir, CA) in a Evergreen contest, on Friday, January 17. Surprise Valley will attempt to better on its 3-7 season record.
