The Smoky Mountain Mustangs basketball team (Sylva, NC), was routed 50-26 in Friday's non-league battle with the host Franklin Panthers (Franklin, NC)

The Panthers now sport a 8-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to West Henderson for a battle on Tuesday, January 16. Franklin will battle a Falcons team coming off a 49-43 non-league loss to A.C. Reynolds (Asheville, NC). The Falcons record now stands at 8-5.

The Mustangs (5-7) will now prepare for their battle against Tuscola (Waynesville, NC). The Mountaineers come into the non-league battle with a 3-5 record.
