Centerville Tigers (Centerville, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Groveton Indians (Groveton, TX), 65-45 in a league bout.

With the victory, Centerville upgrades its record to 11-9 on the campaign. The Tigers host Latexo (Latexo, TX) to play the Tigers in a 2A Region III District 20 bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 9-13. Latexo lost 96-52 in their recent league bout against Grapeland (Grapeland, TX)

Next up, the Indians play the Leon Cougars (Jewett, TX) in a 2A Region III District 20 bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Groveton will attempt to upgrade on its 11-9 season record. The Cougars come into the bout with a 6-14 record after their 57-29 league loss to Lovelady (Lovelady, TX).
