St. Thomas More Sabers (Champaign, IL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Illinois Valley Central Grey Ghosts (Chillicothe, IL), 54-43 in a league bout.

With the win, St. Thomas More upgrades its record to 12-6 on the season. The Sabers host Tolono Unity (Tolono, IL) to clash with the Rockets in a Illini Prairie bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Rockets go into the bout with a record of 11-7. Tolono Unity won 52-40 in their recent non-league bout against Evansville Day (Evansville, IN)

Next up, the Grey Ghosts clash with the Bureau Valley Storm (Manlius, IL) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 14. Illinois Valley Central will attempt to upgrade on its 3-15 season record.
