St. Thomas More Sabers (Champaign, IL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Monticello Sages (Monticello, IL), 47-41 in a league bout.

With the win, St. Thomas More upgrades its record to 19-10 on the season. The Sabers travel to Pontiac (Pontiac, IL) to play the Indians in a Illini Prairie bout on Tuesday, February 14. The Indians enter the game with a record of 22-6. Pontiac won 89-74 in their recent non-league game against Yorkville Christian (Yorkville, IL)

With the defeat, Monticello moves to 14-12 on the year. The Sages travel to St. Teresa (Decatur, IL) to face the Bulldogs in a non-league game on Saturday, February 11. The Bulldogs enter the game with a record of 22-5. St. Teresa won 67-65 in their recent league game against Tuscola (Tuscola, IL)
