Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Mallard Creek Mavericks (Charlotte, NC) and the visiting Chambers Cougars (Charlotte, NC), saw Mallard Creek's basketball squad wallop Chambers by a tally of 66-35.

With the victory, Mallard Creek improves its record to 14-2 on the campaign. The Mavericks host East Rutherford (Forest City, NC) to confront the Cavaliers in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 14. The Cavaliers come into the challenge with a record of 14-2. East Rutherford won 80-42 in their recent league challenge against Polk County (Columbus, NC)

Next up, the Cougars confront the West Mecklenburg Hawks (Charlotte, NC) in a 3A/4A Conference 60 challenge, on Friday, January 20. Chambers will attempt to improve on its 8-7 season record. The Hawks come into the challenge with a 1-10 record after their 97-7 league loss to Mallard Creek (Charlotte, NC).
