In Friday's league match, the host Willow Canyon Wildcats basketball team scored a tight 50-45 triumph over the Paradise Valley Trojans.

In their next game, the Wildcats meet the Ironwood Eagles (Glendale, AZ) in a 5A Northwest match, on Tuesday, January 17. Willow Canyon will attempt to move on its 13-3 season record. The Eagles enter the match with a 4-15 record after their 51-43 league loss to Apollo (Glendale, AZ).
