Rhode Island High School Basketball - Portsmouth overwhelms Cumberland
January 14, 2022: Portsmouth, RI 02871 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Portsmouth Patriots (Portsmouth, RI) and the visiting Cumberland Clippers (Cumberland, RI), saw Portsmouth's basketball squad wallop Cumberland by a tally of 68-42.
With the victory, Portsmouth improves its record to 4-3 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Woonsocket (Woonsocket, RI) to confront the Villa Novans in a State Championship challenge on Tuesday, January 18. The Villa Novans come into the challenge with a record of 3-4. Woonsocket won 64-47 in their recent league challenge against Cranston East (Cranston, RI)
Next up, the Clippers confront the East Providence Townies (East Providence, RI) in a State Championship challenge, on Tuesday, January 18. Cumberland will attempt to improve on its 1-6 season record. The Townies come into the challenge with a 2-2 record after their 73-56 league win over Cranston East (Cranston, RI).
