The Cranston East Thunderbolts basketball team scored 42 points and held the visiting Cumberland Clippers to 7 in the Thunderbolts non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Thunderbolts now sport a 6-13 record. They put it on the line next when they host East Providence for a State Championship contest on Friday, February 11. Cranston East will meet a Townies team coming off a 53-35 league loss to La Salle Academy (Providence, RI). The Townies record now stands at 9-7.

Next up, the Clippers play the Westerly Bulldogs (Westerly, RI) in a State Championship challenge, on Friday, February 11. Cumberland will attempt to upgrade on its 6-12 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 13-5 record after their 54-51 league win over Barrington (Barrington, RI).
